When will we get our photos?

I send some previews within a daya of your wedding for you to share - no blurry iPhone pics to announce your marriage online! Then the full gallery within 4 weeks, apart from at peak times when sometimes it can take a little longer. Never more than 6 weeks I promise. In the interest of not missing anything important I shoot a lot of images on the day and edit these to make sure all your photos look great. I’ll cut out ones where there are eyes closed or bad angles don’t worry! I then spend time editing every single photo individually myself to make sure it is perfect so it will be worth the wait!

How do we get our photos?

Your photos will arrive in an online gallery with a slideshow set to music. This allows you to share your photos easily with anyone you like and all images are free to download from it. You also get a gorgeous engraved wooden boxset handmade from FSC Alder wood and walnut stained with your names engraved on both the box and usb. All your photos will be on the usb print ready as well as a selection of 50 prints for you. The galleries stay online for a year and I guarantee a backup of your photos for 3 years. This all comes in a stunning cotton printed tote bag handmade by local artist Lily Bailie. (I’m all about the environment so organic cotton and reusable). You can add on an album too if you like.

Can we print our photos?

Of course! In fact I absolutely encourage it!! Photos are so much nicer printed out to enjoy rather than on a screen. That’s why I include a set of prints with every wedding. You can print your photos anywhere you like (though I do recommend a good quality printer not tesco - no offence Tesco but you’re better for food) and all gallery links offer the option to buy prints directly from my pro lab so you know they’ll look the part. I can organise prints for you too and I offer gorgeous linen covered albums starting from £450. To complement these I have stunning parents albums from £100 for a set of two.

How many photos will we get?

This varies greatly depending on your plans and what coverage you want on the day. A tiny intimate wedding thats ceremony only for instance will have fewer photos than a 350 strong all night party. As a rough guide most full day coverage weddings are around 500-700 photos for you to choose from. If you want to do a lot of posed family photos this usually takes about 20mins but I’ll make it fun and you get some great shots to share so that will give you a few more. I’ll give you all your photos no hidden costs involved, minus blinks and bad angles.

Where do you shoot weddings?

I love to travel and am available for weddings worldwide. I regularly cover the entire of Ireland and only charge travel if your wedding is more than 1 hour travel from Belfast. Destination weddings do involve a lot more planning and time so if you are thinking of heading away please get in touch to plan.

Please get in touch for details about destination wedding and elopement prices.

How long will our portraits take?

My approach is very much that this is your big day and you are there to enjoy it so I document as much as I can in a candid way, shooting all the time while you chat to friends and family, say your vows and cry at speeches. For your portraits I do take you away from the crowd for a bit so you can relax and I can get shots. Nobody can really relax with their mates watching them from the trees. If you want to shoot your portraits at your ceremony or reception photos then think around 30minutes. If you want to go to another location just adds a little drive to either side.

Everyone’s plans are different so I offer a range of packages to suit what I get asked for most frequently. All these can be tailored to suit exactly what you want though. Current prices (2020-22) for full day coverage from bridal prep until first dance with me shooting all day is £1495. Capsule coverage options for shorter coverage or smaller weddings start at £995. Albums can be added on and start at £495 and prints vary depending on size.

Just get in touch and I can send a full brochure of pricing information for you. And if you don’t see what works for you we can chat about your plans and customise things to suit.

Love it, how do we book our date?

Get in touch and we can grab a chat either in person, by phone or zoom! We will chat about your plans, figure out the best options for you and then it’s a £350 deposit to confirm your date. Once it’s booked I’ll send you some booking forms to fill in which will give me all the detail of your day.

If possible we’ll meet up to chat about all your plans too because I always like to be prepared. The booking is transferrable should you really need to change your date for unavoidable reasons though don’t worry and you can change your package to suit any changes that may come up.

I will open the 2024 diary in December 2022.

What if your camera breaks on the day?

Fear not my friend!! I shoot on Nikon gear and will always have 2 professional camera bodies with me on the day (sometimes 3). I shoot mainly on two Nikon D780s and have a Nikon D6 as well. I use a wide range of lenses including Sigma Art Lenses (35mm and 50mm) Nikon telephoto lenses (16-35mm, 24-70mm and 70-200mm) an additional portrait lens (85mm), various flashguns and battery packs. My cameras have dual memory card slots so your photos backup as they are taken. I also have lighting equipment, a ton of spare batteries, flashes, reflectors and comfy shoes!

Portrait Photography FAQs

When will we get our photos?

For family portrait and couple shoots turnaround time is generally 2 - 3 weeks. This doesn’t involve as many photos to edit so takes less time but I still edit every single photo to make sure it’s perfect!

How long will do shoots take?

This is a bit of a how long is a piece of string question but I do stay for up to 3 hours to make sure we have everything you need. It sometimes takes younger family members a while to relax so I like to give them time to do that! Couple shoots tend to be a little faster but bigger family shoots you would want to leave a little extra time

Where do you travel to?

I am more than happy to travel anywhere you like. Most of NI isn’t a big drive anyway. For anywhere more than an hours drive there will be a small travel charge to cover fuel and time on the road.

Can we do posed group shots too?

Absolutely! You can do whatever you like - I shoot a lot of candid photos but am great at rounding up groups into posed portraits as well.
