So the day is set and you want your nearest and dearest there. That should definitely include your four legged family members too! I absolutely love when people have their pets involved at weddings. Sadly for me with 3 cats it wasn’t possible. They can’t really be trained to walk up an aisle or stay in a new place and not run to the hills! Next year I have dogs, cows, and even horses to be included in photos and I cannot wait! Animals at weddings is definitely one of the biggest joys in life – especially if they have a wee bowtie on! Doggy ring bearers, kitties at the morning prep, arriving on your horse, train your guinea pig to do the first dance, I mean the possibilities are endless!! Before I bombard you with adorable doggy photos here are a few planning tips…
Gail & Conor met on a random night out, don’t you love it when fate conspires in your favour. After a long distance romance from Belfast to the Isle of Man, the two made things official and then planned their wedding in no time. They are both bundles of enthusiasm and energy – like the human equivalent of a good cuppa coffee. Chatting about their plans I couldn’t help but get excited. And when the day came it did not disappoint.
I’ve known Carley and Julie-anne for years through the Belfast Music Scene. I can honestly say they are two absolute legends. I was beyond chuffed when they asked me to come along and photograph their wedding. It’s always important to find a photographer you get on with. Firstly one who can put you at ease and secondly, one who can make you laugh and relax. An LGBT friendly wedding photographer can be a little tricky in NI, so I think it’s even more important for LGBT+ couples, And now we finally have equal marriage status NI has finally recognised what we all thought for years anyway!!
It’s so exciting being newly engaged. Its a major excuse to drink bubbly every night for at least a week then start planning your wedding day! There are loads of fab blogs like Rock N Roll Bride and Way Out Wedding to give you ideas. Pinterest can also be helpful (just be careful not to lose days of your life on it!). Supplier directories like This is Reportage and Quirky Weddings are a good place to start searching for ideas too.
