Full of laughter and dancing, Gemma & Barry’sMalone House Wedding was a brilliant day from start to finish. Arriving in a gorgeous vintage VW with her bridesmaids right behind in a baby blue camper van, the day had a vintage style with stunning screen siren makeup by Rebecca Bryson, aJustin Alexanderdress to die for and the sparkliest Kate Spade shoes I have ever seen. Their reception had so many lovely personalised details like tables named after places they’d visited in Paris (where they got engaged) and an epic playlist from the band. When you find out the groom loves Kiss as much as you do (in fact since he has an Ace Frehley tattoo maybe even a little bit more) you know you’re on to a winner. We had four seasons in one day weather wise but the sun shone at all the right times and they even had a beautiful outdoor summer ceremony (a rare occasion in an Irish summer)
Crazy Happy Love is delighted to be joining the Quirky Weddings Family so look out for our link on their site and our work in their next issue of The Book.
I used the site when I was planning my own wedding to get ideas and inspiration so I’m very excited to not only be listed on it, but am actually on the poster for this fair too! It was nice to be on the other side of the camera for a change 🙂 (thanks to our awesome friends Deci & Brideen for our lovely photos)
I love a good shoe photo – in fact I love capturing all the little details of your outfit ; shoes, jewellery, your something blue! All the little things that make up the big day. They’re all things you’ve chosen specifically for your wedding day so I think it’s important to grab some photos of them as well. They make great shots in your album and allow you to look back on every element of your day. And this isn’t just for the girls – cufflinks, matching socks, fancy ties – the boys style is just as much a part of it!
Everybody loves a good confetti photo – they’re bright and colourful and completely spontaneous – well kind of!! If your guests are planning throw confetti make sure somebody lets your photographer know. There’s nothing worse than being at one end of the venue taking a photo of aunty mildred when you catch the confetti fluttering out of the corner of your eye! It sounds silly but some candid moments do require a little bit of set up – you have to be in the right place at the right time and with the camera good to go so sometimes we need a little help. Make sure they know to be in place so you get this gorgeous shot for your album.
My name is Carrie Davenport and I’ve been a freelance photographer for over a decade. In that time photography has allowed me to travel, meet amazing people and go to incredible events. My style is vibrant and creative and through my work I’ve met many people who wanted something a little different from their wedding photography. I’ve been shooting weddings for five years now and thought it was time this work had its own place to shine so that’s why I’ve created Crazy Happy Love – delightfully cheerful wedding photography that’s all about capturing happy moments on your big day! Have a look through these pages and if you like what you see then I’d love to chat.
